Show more questions01What does Kebab Purchasing Power Index measure?
Kebab Purchasing Power Index reads a kebab price together with the economic value attached to it, not as a price alone.
02How is the index calculated?
Net minimum-wage periods are weighted by months in force; the annual wage is divided by that year’s kebab-price indicator. Technical formula: weighted_net_minimum_wage / standard_portion_price.
03What is the standard product?
The target is a standard plate equivalent to 150 grams of uncooked meat. Missing product or weight detail is labelled, not guessed.
04Which data are required?
The calculation needs 7 core fields: price.amount, price.currency, observedAt, kebabType, portionType, sourceId, confidence. Unknown values remain null.
05Which years and places are covered?
The calculated series covers 2005–2026. Records from 1980–2004 remain in a separate historical layer.
06How should the result be read?
A higher value means the same wage buys more standard portions; a lower value means fewer.
07Where do the sources come from?
Prices come from dated menus, official tariffs, news archives and direct documents; wage and reference series come from official institutions. Every result links to the source ledger.
08Which records are excluded?
Bundles with no separable price, temporary promotions, duplicate old prices and records outside the product contract are held out of the core calculation.
09When is it updated?
The main index is live and each affected year is recalculated when new evidence arrives.
10What is its main limitation?
The data method changes in 2022–2023; the former TÜİK item series and the restaurant panel are not identical samples.
