Show more questions
  1. 01What does City Kebab Index measure?

City Kebab Index reads a kebab price together with the economic value attached to it, not as a price alone.

  2. 02How is the index calculated?

Within each city-year, the latest eligible record per venue is kept; median price and verified venue count are calculated separately. Technical formula: city_net_wage / city_standard_portion_median.

  3. 03What is the standard product?

The target is a standard plate equivalent to 150 grams of uncooked meat. Missing product or weight detail is labelled, not guessed.

  4. 04Which data are required?

The calculation needs 10 core fields: city, countryCode, price.amount, price.currency, meatGrams, kebabType, observedAt, sourceId, confidence, cityWageSeries. Unknown values remain null.

  5. 05Which years and places are covered?

The city panel covers 2023–2026 and five target cities.

  6. 06How should the result be read?

Cities are not ranked by median alone; evidence coverage must be read first.

  7. 07Where do the sources come from?

Prices come from dated menus, official tariffs, news archives and direct documents; wage and reference series come from official institutions. Every result links to the source ledger.

  8. 08Which records are excluded?

Bundles with no separable price, temporary promotions, duplicate old prices and records outside the product contract are held out of the core calculation.

  9. 09When is it updated?

The research panel is open; the ten-verified-venue threshold is tracked by city and year.

  10. 10What is its main limitation?

Local wage data are not yet equally robust across cities; the current panel publishes price and evidence coverage.
